Diversity In Pilates - Teachers Training Scholarship Programs

  • Balanced Body Community Expansion Scholarship

    Community Expansion Scholarship, Balanced Body

    The goal of the Balanced Body Community Expansion Scholarship Program is to increase the diversity of the Pilates profession by training teachers who come from Black and other underrepresented communities. Balanced Body Authorized Training Centers around the country and around the world are participating in this program by providing full scholarships to qualified students.

    PROGRAM GOALS:

    To bring more Black instructors into the Pilates community, increasing the rich tapestry of experiences and perspectives in the industry

    To support Black instructors as they develop their teaching practice

    To bring the benefits of Pilates to the Black community by supporting teachers from the community.

    Scholarship application portal opens July 1-15th for Sept/Oct interviews.

    Available for Local, National & International scholarships, including at Aspire Pilates Center.

  • Grown Women Dance Collective's Joyful Movement Whole Life Program

    Joyful Movement Whole Life Program, Grown Women Dance Collective

    Joyful Movement empowers people to become active agents for change in their own communities. This program is impacting community health disparities, helping build wealth to stave off gentrification, and infuse thousands of free arts and wellness programs into disinvested Bay Area communities.

    The 2 year certification program includes Balanced Body Comprehensive Certification curriculum, Tonya Amos’ in depth anatomy and pain reduction curriculum, National Pilates Certification, dance for non traditional settings, mental health education and counseling with a Black, female psychiatrist, nutrition, financial empowerment, business building, and job placement assistance into well-paid Pilates careers. Scholarship students participate in paid internships to bring life changing arts and wellness classes into our neighborhoods.

    Available for Bay Area students that are deeply rooted in community.
