Foundation: Mat + Reformer (Machines)

A solid Introduction into the benefits of Pilates. This course is designed to build Strength, Flexibility, Balance in entire body. In just 8 weeks, you will build a solid foundation in healthy body mechanics and begin to strengthen your center/ core muscles, improve whole body strength, flexibility and balance, address muscular imbalances and improve your posture. This class of just 6 students is small and individually focused, guaranteeing that you will get plenty of personal attention and individualized instruction. Beginning with 6 Mat Classes, we start by strengthening the Core, raise body awareness of our own postural habits and imbalances, and learn healthy spinal mechanics. We then move on to 9 Reformer Classes where we begin to build incredible stability, strength and flexibility in the feet, legs, arms, upper back and entire body. This workshop puts you on a solid path to a stronger, more functional, powerfully balanced body.

releaseRelease your stress! Learn how to find those tight, sore knots in your body and make them melt away. Using personal massage balls, sticks, and rollers, you will learn how to decrease your pain and tightness, improve your alignment and posture, and provide yourself with immediate relief when your body feels sore or tight. A different area of the body is covered each week: back & hips, legs & feet, neck & shoulders, and arms & hands. 1x per week for 5 weeks

In our Mat II workshop, you will build on the basics learned in Mat I or Foundation. You will see great results from the intense workout you’ll get while learning more advanced exercises. In this class of 8 students max, you will continue to enjoy plenty of personal attention while you strengthen your Center/Core muscles, improve your flexibility and balance, address muscular imbalances, and improve your posture.

APPARATUS

In this class, you will benefit from working on many of the machines that Joseph and Clara Pilates created to work the body — Reformer, Trapeze Table, Combo Chair, Spine Corrector, Pilates Arc, Roller Discs, Wobble Board, and others. This class has a strong focus on balance improvement.  If you can't stand on one foot with your eyes closed for 10 seconds, you need this class! Ongoing weekly classes allow you to sign-up online and to pick and choose classes with the dates and times that work for you during the month.

Contemporary Dance Intensive

contempA Local Intensive with New York Flair. Tonya has a profound love of movement and technique that she joyfully shares with all around her. Her 15 years of New York professional dance experience is reflected in this fun and uplifting class. Teaching Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater style modern dance, she draws from many years of experience with Horton, Graham, Dunham & Ballet techniques to inspire dancers to explore new limits both technically and artistically. Daily class will be a powerful combination of technique and repertory. Intermediate, Advanced & Professional Dancers Welcome.

ATHLETES

SUMMER INTENSIVES FOR ATHLETES

alisonATHLETES will benefit greatly from increased CORE strength and spinal stability, no matter what sport. Aspire's Summer Intensive will help athletes develop Explosive Speed, More Power with Less Work, Elevation & Endurance, while focusing on Injury Prevention. Sports specific Reformer, Apparatus and Mat exercises emphasize healthy body mechanics, power, flexibility, balance, stamina, focus and joint stabilization.

Includes 20 hours of small group training (Mon- Fri from 12pm to 2pm) in an indoor, air conditioned facility. Private Session strongly encouraged before enrollment.


NO REFUNDS as this is a closed class, make-ups OK with 24 hour cancellation. JV, Varsity & Elite athletes in any sport are welcome.

sportsSports Specific Team Training is a fantastic way to increase the strength, flexibility, balance, speed and focus of your athletes.   We can train your whole team or just your starters anytime of the year.  Pilates Mat work may be done at Aspire or at your own facility, or come to our well equipped studio for Reformer and Apparatus work that will elevate your players to the next level.  Programs can be designed for any sport, offense or defense, and focus is on injury prevention coupled with an overall increase of power, flexibility, balance and speed.  Please call for programming options and rates.
